As we approach the Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday season, requests to WEAC will increase. After consulting with Ken over at the Center, the following items are needed to put together food baskets for the holidays. Bring any of these items next weekend, Nov. 21st/22nd to the Church.
Box of Mashed Potato Flakes
Box of Stuffing Mix
Canned Sweet Potatoes or Yams
Canned Cranberry Sauce
Can Vegetables: green beans, corn, carrots, or peas
Gravy Mix packages
Packages of Dried Beans
Small canned Hams
Dessert items in the form of cookies or “Little Debbie Snack Cakes”
If anyone wishes to donate a small turkey, it can be delivered directly to WEAC. They are open Mon. – Fri., 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
St. John’s Altar Society will be coordinating the “Angel Tree Program” with Catholic Charities again this year. We have angels for 60 seniors and 15 children. Angels will be available the next two weekends after all Masses. Gift need to be back before December 7th. Any questions call the rectory at 455-0356
The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart will celebrate a Mass of Remembrance on Thursday November 19th at 5:30pm followed by a light meal in the Cathedral Parish Hall. St. Anne (Bellview) Annual Christmas Market Arts and Crafts Weekend: Dec. 5-6. Many vendors from Al., Miss., and Fl. with exciting crafts, jewelry, flowers/wreaths, ceramics, art work, clothes, candles and much more. St. Anne`s BSA Troop will be serving lunch & dinner as well as snacks both days. Santa will be there for pictures.
